About us

In 1991, our 1st President Anthony Punzi and a small group of Chiefs who saw the need for Department middle management to come together to effect change in policy by offering potential members a unified voice.

On October 10, 2000 the Association was certified as a union with Peter Kelly as President who served from 1993-2002. The Association's 3rd and longest serving President Russ Taormina helped to transform and move the union forward, celebrating our 25th anniversary during his tenure from 2002-2017.

Ignazio Azzara is our current President and is building on the successes of our past while looking ahead to the future.

Our mission

The object and purpose of the Association is to unite for advancement of the general welfare of all Association members; to secure and protect better working conditions; to advance the overall economic welfare of all members concerning salaries, professional dignity, ratings and treatment of members, through collective bargaining rights; to aid all members in the consistent enforcement of civil service laws and grievance procedures. The Association will foster the continuation of the high standards of dedication and loyalty to service.
