Your Uniformed Sanitation Chiefs Association is now making tax-free Uniform Allowance payments available. Based on current tax law and in agreement with the City of New York, dues-paying union members may qualify to have their annual dues payments offset the taxes associated with the Uniform Allowance. Dues-paying union members will now be entitled to these payments with no deductions. This check will now be issued by the USCA and not the City of New York.
To receive the tax-free uniform allowance check, members must log onto the USCA website and complete an electronic form which can be digitally signed and submitted to the USCA. The USCA will maintain a database of all the completed forms.
Forms must be completed online and received at the USCA no later than December 6, 2025. The Uniform Allowance checks will be mailed to your residence of record with the USCA in mid-December when the uniform check has historically been paid.
All active USCA union members who have paid up to $500 in qualifying expenses in the year 2025. Qualifying expenses include union dues, clothing and footwear, specialty equipment, cleaning of uniforms, and other qualified business expense incurred with being a uniformed employee of NYC.
Eligible members will receive a check in the amount of $500.
